This week we would like to introduce you to one of Verbier’s finest penthouse apartments in the form of Chalet Treize Etoiles. Always a firm favourite with our clients, and sleeping between 10 and 12 people, Treize Etoiles is a chalet that perfectly balances the ‘home away from home’ feel with contemporary design in keeping with the traditional alpine style.
Situated above the architects that designed it, on arrival the chalet is nothing less than impressive, with a rustic wood-clad design stretching from the heated floor (which is, I have to say, nothing short of delightful on the feet after stomping around in ski boots all day!) to the high spotlight-lit rafters. Floor to ceiling windows flood in daylight and afford some fantastic views of the valley and when the sun sets, the roaring fire brings that cosy feel helped by luxurious fur throws and rugs on virtually every surface.
Each of the five bedrooms has their own individual design and personality.
Service is nothing less than exemplary, and you will be greeted on your return with homemade afternoon tea to satiate the appetite prior to the five course evening meal that your private chef is likely already preparing in the open plan kitchen. Pre-dinner drinks and canapés (and virtually anything else you desire) are served in the lounge by your professional host, and this chalet also comes complete with an on-demand 24 hour driving service, even though it is only a few minutes’ walk to Verbier’s town centre.
The chalet is owned by a Danish family with young children, and they have ensured that the family friendly vibe is felt throughout. Younger guests love the cosy snug on the mezzanine floor above the open plan living space, complete with a widescreen TV and an extensive DVD library, Wii, Wifi and other children’s games, while parents can enjoy a glass of champagne in the outdoor hot tub or perhaps sneak away to the steam room and sauna that the chalet shares with the other two apartments in the complex.
