The Countdown is on to Season 15/16

As we enter October this week, the countdown is on to the new winter season with just over 10 weeks left until the 2015/16 winter season is in full swing yet again. Rumours are already rife that it’s going to be a great season for snow, and having had our first scattering of snow high on the mountains in September, here’s hoping they’re right!

The Verbier ski area will be partially open during the weekends throughout November, with the  official opening weekend of the entire ski area in Verbier currently scheduled for 29th/30th November 2015.

What’s new in Verbier for the start of season 2015/16?

Verbier itself saw a multitude of changes for the 2014/15 season with new bar and supper club Etoiles Rouge opening its doors for a very successful first season, as well as renovations of old favourites including the infamous après ski bar the Farinet, and a face-lift for Restaurant Le Carrefour which remains one of our all-time favourites for lunch or dinner on the mountain, just to mention a few.

This year, new ski pass prices have been announced for the coming season, with Verbier introducing ‘low’, ‘medium’ and ‘high’ rates for ski passes in the area. You can download the PDF for this year’s prices here.

In December, Verbier are also launching a brand new festival ‘Polaris’ for the weekend 11th-12th December 2015 and tickets cost 69 CHF per day with a 1000 capacity venue with the likes of Luciano, Seth Troxler and DJ Koze performing.

And although it’s still a long way off, the SWATCH Freeride World Tour has announced that it will again be hosting the finals on the infamous Bec de Rosses on the preliminary date of April 2, 2016, which already promises to be another fantastic weekend late in the season.
